The two Next Stars will be competing for their National Teams in the upcoming FIBA break.

Karim Lopez, who has finished his season with the New Zealand Breakers after breaking records — including becoming the youngest player ever to record a double-double — will suit up for two home games with Mexico in the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers. 

Mexico faces Nicaragua on Saturday February 22 and Canada on Tuesday February 25.

Izan Almansa, who is still competing for the NBL Championship with the Perth Wildcats, which will face Melbourne United in the Playoff Series between the 2nd and 3rd seed, has also been summoned to compete in the last EuroBasket qualifying window for Spain later this month.

Spain faces Latvia on Friday February 21 and Belgium on Monday February 24.
