NBL Next Star Dash Daniels made a splash at NBA All-Star Weekend, being named the Defensive MVP and an All-Star for the Basketball Without Borders Global camp.
Daniels is set to begin his professional career at Melbourne United next season and is projected to be a first round NBA draft pick in 2026.
The younger brother of Atlanta Hawks star Dyson, Dash impressed at the BWB camp, with ESPN draft expert Jonathan Givony saying he showcased his “impressive physical tools, passing, defense and improving shooting”.

“It meant a lot,” Daniels said about winning the Defensive MVP.
“I put a lot of work into it and it’s a lot of dedication. I’ve worked a lot on my defence and I’m glad it’s paying off.”
The Defensive MVP from last year's event, Khaman Maluach from South Sudan, is currently a projected to be a top 10 pick in this year's NBA Draft.
Fellow Australian Alexander Dickeson was also at the camp and won the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award.
The 9th edition of the camp took place from February 14-16 at the Golden State Valkyries practice facility, as part of the All-Star festivities.
The camp brings together 40 of the top high-school-age prospects from around the world for on-court development, 5-on-5 games and life-skills development programming under the guidance of former NBA and WNBA players and NBA Coaching Development Program members Edniesha Curry, Juan Dixon, Yolanda Moore, Damon Jones and Emeka Okafor.
Since the program launched in 2001, 116 BWB campers have advanced to the NBA including the 27 current NBA players who participated in BWB Global.
