NBL25's class of Next Stars is looming as one of the top groups of emerging hoops talent anywhere in the world. Stay informed as to how each of the competition's brightest stars played on the weekend with NBL Media's Next Stars Wrap.

In his last appearance for the New Zealand Breakers in NBL25, Mexican prodigy Karim Lopez had 12 points in front of the home fans at Spark Arena. While the home side couldn’t finish the season off with a win against the ladder-leading Illawarra Hawks, Lopez can look back at his first NBL campaign with immense pride, having achieved historic records. He was featured in the latest NBL documentary episode, with exclusive interviews with his father Hiram Lopez and head coach Petteri Koponen.

The Perth Wildcats handled business at RAC Arena, beating the Adelaide 36ers in what was advertised as the battle of potential MVPs, with Bryce Cotton and Kendric Davis putting on a show. Izan Almansa defended the rim with authority in limited minutes.

Alex Toohey had to play more of a four role in the Kings’ rivalry game against the Hawks on Friday. The Kings’ Next Star was on the floor for 33 minutes, and squared off with big men like Lachlan Olbrich and Sam Froling — still managing to get stops and run the break with impressive results. Toohey ended the game just shy of a double-double, recording 12 points and 9 rebounds.

While the South East Melbourne Phoenix were not able to win their third consecutive Throwdown match-up against city rivals United, Malique Lewis had himself a big night: with the Finals approaching, Lewis showed how valuable he is to Josh King’s rotations, bringing in incredible versatility on defence and aggressiveness going to the rim on cuts and fast-breaks. The Next Star from Trinidad & Tobago finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds in 19 minutes.
