Rocco Zikarsky played arguably his best game of the NBL25 season on Sunday, finishing with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 1 block. His energy and intensity during his 19 minutes on the floor were outstanding, and coach Justin Schueller was pleased: “He impacted winning on the floor tonight”, he stated in the press conference. Zikarsky’s performance was highlighted by a massive block on Bryce Cotton, and none other than champion Aussie big man Andrew Bogut had a post on X to congratulate the Next Star.

The New Zealand Breakers had yet another win during the weekend, coming away from Cairns with a 7-3 record that gives them the second place in the ladder at the FIBA Break. Karim Lopez started once again and used his length on defence against strong guards like Taran Armstrong. He finished with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and an eye-catching dunk

Malique Lewis’ form shows no signs of slowing down: the Phoenix’ Next Star played on Friday in Perth and had another all-round performance, hitting threes, driving to the basket, dishing out dimes and guarding the opponent’s best players. In 26 minutes of playing time, he netted 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block.

The Sydney Kings came out empty after the much-anticipated game against the Illawarra Hawks on Saturday night. Alex Toohey had a rough shooting night and finished with 4 points in 21 minutes.

Spain’s Izan Almansa totalled 17 points and 15 rebounds over the two games he played in Round 9 with the Perth Wildcats. He contributed to the home win against the Phoenix on Friday with a massive plus/minus of +28, hitting his jump-shots consistently and affecting shots around the rim on defense.
