The NBA has announced today that Alex Sarr has been selected to the 2025 Rising Stars roster as part of NBA All-Star Weekend 2025 in San Francisco.
Sarr, who stood out as a Next Star last season with the Perth Wildcats, is averaging 11.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game in 41 starts this season.
Drafted second overall by Washington, Sarr ranks in the top 5 among rookies in points (fourth), rebounds (fourth), and blocks (second). Sarr has notched 20 multi-block games on the season, the most among rookies, and has combined for 91 total steals and blocks, the second-most among rookies. He is also the only rookie this season, and only the fourth rookie since 2020, to average at least 10.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks.
The Rising Stars is the annual showcase of top first and second year NBA players and NBA G League standouts. It will feature a mini-tournament with four teams and three games, which will tip off at 1pm AEDT on Saturday, February 15.
The winning Rising Stars team will feature in the All-Star Game mini-tournament the next day, competing against the NBA All-Stars. TNT analyst and WNBA legend Candace Parker will serve as honorary GM of the Rising Stars champion, known as Team Candace.
