Three NBL Next Stars have been listed among ESPN’S early 2025 Mock Draft, with Brisbane Bullets star Rocco Zikarsky projected to land in the first round.

According to Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo, Zikarsky currently sits as the 20th overall pick for Next Year’s Draft.

The 7’3 fan favourite joined the NBL as a 16-year-old, and showed he could match it with the league’s best this year in limited minutes.

He averaged 3.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and one block a game across NBL24, in a little over seven minutes of action.

Zikarsky recently lined up for the Australia Select team against Japan and is expected to be a key part of the Boomers’ national setup for years to come.

The NBL’s newest Next Star, Izan Almansa, is currently tipped to land at pick 40.

Almansa, 19, is regarded as one of the greatest ever youth players in international basketball.

The 6’10 centre, who hails from Spain, possesses a 7’1 wingspan and is an impact player on both ends of the floor.

He’s hoping to follow in the footsteps of Alex Sarr in signing with the Perth Wildcats for NBL25.

Sydney Kings Next Star Alex Toohey was eligible for this year’s Draft, but opted to spend another year in the NBL as he continues his development as a professional.

The 20-year-old is currently ranked 57th by ESPN’s experts.

Australian college prospect Tyrese Proctor, who plays for the Duke Blue Devils, is currently projected as the 28th overall pick.

Five NBL Next Stars landed with NBA teams over the past week, with four selected via the Draft.
